Words:  weapon from the mouth and balm to the ears

Part I
The dual nature of words:

In the beginning was the Word,
The sound that all of the creation heard,
The sequence of sounds that gave life to all God made,
The combination of sounds that communicate understanding.
And in its message, we find hope.

These sounds carry deep meaning,
The sounds symbolise a promise of light,
And the silence between each sound brings understanding to our sight.
And through sounds, messages are formed and ‘meanings’ find their rightful place called WORDS.

All relationships begin with words, spoken or unspoken it may be,
All relationships can be nurtured by words.
All relationships can be destroyed by words.

Words nourish the minds of the innocents and the villains.
Words win the souls of the willing and lose the souls of the unwilling.

Words can be harmful, like a weapon, or soothing, like a balm.

It’s only by words conflict begins.
It’s by words conflicts are neutralised.
It’s by words, people’s feelings get hurt.
It’s by words hearts get broken.
It’s by words; broken hearts and troubled souls heal.

By words, the world embraced hope when the pandemic hit.
By simple gestures of kind words, the pains of our losses were contained.
By words, a community is united.
By ‘words’, a community is divided.

Part II
Words are so powerful; they move strong men and women into action.
Words can be so charming; they move men and women to fall in love.

Words can be so soothing; they can heal and restore hope to the hopeless.
Words can be so dangerous; they can pollute innocent minds to commit atrocities.

It’s by words that world wars began.
It’s by words; the world embraced peace.
It’s by words the acts of war are springing up around us.
It’s by words the much-needed peace can be restored.

Words can heal a broken heart.
Words can harden a soft mind.
Words can soften a hardened mind.
Words can destroy, and words can mend.
Words can break the hearts of fragile souls.

Words are like freshly laid eggs, protected only by fragile and delicate shells.
When it drops, it cannot be mended.

When damaging words drop onto unprotected ears, long-lasting damage is inevitable.
When the damage is done to the innocent mind, it can never be amended to perfection.

As a raw egg shatters when dropped on a concrete floor, so does a fragile mind shatter with unkind words.
Wrong words leave their devastation behind for the world to see.

NEVER allow any child’s or adult’s day to end with tears from the wrath of your words.
Use your words wisely, as they can make or break you.
